Our Foundation children are given the best possible start to school life by being introduced to learning through a rich assortment of opportunities and experiences. The Foundation literacy program focuses on developing skills in listening, speaking, writing and reading. At Dorset we focus on using cued articulation, which is a set of hand cues for teaching the individual sounds in a word. The hand movements are logical – each hand movement repre. The numeracy program provides active participation in practical experiences to count, sort, classify, group, measure, weigh, add and solve problems.
