All pupils at our school engage in a weekly 40-minute session dedicated to studying Italian (LOTE). During this time, they actively participate in a variety of activities, games, and role plays aimed at enhancing their Italian reading, writing, and speaking skills.
Embracing the study of another language contributes significantly to the cognitive development of our students. It fosters improved memory, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking. Additionally, language learning enhances their overall literacy skills and deepens their comprehension of the English language.
At Dorset Primary School, we promote the use of Italian throughout the school day, fostering an environment that encourages language immersion. Furthermore, we organize an annual Italian Day, providing our students with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Italian culture through a diverse array of activities and the enjoyment of authentic Italian cuisin.
